OneTag facility launched

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, today launched ‘OneTag’, a NETC FASTag portability solution, at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai. The initiative will enhance interoperability and provide greater choice and convenience to NETC FASTag users.

OneTag will enable users to switch their issuer bank while retaining the existing NETC FASTag affixed to their vehicle, eliminating the need to obtain a new physical tag. ‘OneTag’ is a joint initiative of Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), a company promoted by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

At present, customers seeking to change their NETC FASTag issuer bank are required to close their existing NETC FASTag and undergo a fresh onboarding process to obtain a new physical tag. ‘OneTag’ simplifies this process by enabling customers to switch their issuer bank based on their requirements, while retaining the NETC FASTag already affixed to their vehicle. Following successful portability, the existing Tag ID and vehicle registration number will remain unchanged, allowing users to continue using the same physical tag with a different issuer bank.

The service will be made available through NHAI’s Rajmargyatra mobile app. The app will guide users through the portability process, including eligibility checks, secure verification, customer consent, selection of the preferred issuer bank and subsequent onboarding. Under the portability framework, the existing issuer bank will handle customer verification and manage the previous wallet, refunds, pending transactions and related matters, while the selected issuer bank will complete the onboarding and provide services following successful portability.

ISRO developing semi-cryogenic engine working on LOX Kerosene propellant

ISRO is developing a 2000 kN thrust semi-cryogenic engine working on an LOX Kerosene propellant combination for enhancing the payload capability of LVM3 and for future launch vehicles. Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) is the lead centre for the development of semi-cryogenic propulsion systems with the support of other launch vehicle centres of ISRO. The assembly and testing of the propulsion modules were done at the ISRO propulsion complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri. As part of the engine development, a pre-burner ignition test article, which is a full complement of the engine power head system excluding the turbopumps is realized.
