SVAMITVA Yojana ( Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas )

The pilot phase of the SVAMITVA Scheme was launched on 24th April 2020 for implementation during 2020-21. 

SVAMITVA, a Central Sector scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj provides a ‘Record of Rights’ to village household owners with the issuance of legal ownership cards (Property cards/Title deeds) to the property owners by mapping land parcels using drone technology.

Objectives
  • Creation of accurate land records for rural planning and reducing property-related disputes.
  • To bring financial stability to the citizens in rural India by enabling them to use their property as a financial asset for taking loans and other financial benefits.
  • Determination of property tax, which would accrue to the GPs directly in States where it is devolved or else, add to the State exchequer.
  • Creation of survey infrastructure and GIS maps that can be leveraged by any department for their use.
  • To support in the preparation of a better-quality Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) by making use of GIS maps
The scheme is a reformative step towards the establishment of clear ownership of property in rural inhabited (Abadi) areas, by mapping of land parcels using drone technology and providing ‘Record of Rights’ to village household owners with the issuance of legal ownership cards (Property cards/Title deeds) to the property owners.
There are about 6.62 lakh villages in the country which will be eventually covered in this scheme. The entire work is likely to be spread for five years.

Eligibility
The applicant should have a property in rural inhabited (Abadi) area.

Exclusions
Agricultural Lands are not covered under this scheme.

ISRO developing semi-cryogenic engine working on LOX Kerosene propellant

ISRO is developing a 2000 kN thrust semi-cryogenic engine working on an LOX Kerosene propellant combination for enhancing the payload capability of LVM3 and for future launch vehicles. Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) is the lead centre for the development of semi-cryogenic propulsion systems with the support of other launch vehicle centres of ISRO. The assembly and testing of the propulsion modules were done at the ISRO propulsion complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri. As part of the engine development, a pre-burner ignition test article, which is a full complement of the engine power head system excluding the turbopumps is realized. The first ignition trial was conducted successfully on May 2, 2024, at semi cryo integrated engine test facility (SIET) at IPRC, Mahendragiri, which was dedicated to the nation recently by the honorable Prime Minister of India.
