There is no scope for fourth country for Developing Nuclear Powered Submarines under AUKUS Partnership

Diplomatic Sources confirmed that there is no question of including any other country including India for developing nuclear powered submarine technology under AUKUS partnership. However, possibility of cooperation between India and AUKUS can be explored under pillier-2 which is related to in technologies like electronic warfare, cyberspace and quantum, where there is a scope for including other countries.

Diplomatic Sources also ruled out the possibility of conversation between AUKUS and the Quad. Sources also ruled out cooperation between India and USA on this type of sensitive technology.

It is to be noted that both U.S. and the U.K. are in the race to co-develop a fighter jet engine with India and France. General Electric GE-414 engine has already been selected for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-MK2. The US government is currently considering an application from General Electric to license manufacture the engine in India. Whereas UK is pitching for engine developed by Rolls Royce.
